Dear Guests,

On 10 February 2012, I began serving my country as the Ambassador of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the United Kingdom. This is both a source of excitement and an honour for me.

Firstly, I would like to express my pleasure of coming together with you one more time since being assigned to London as the first woman Consul General between the years 1998 to 2001. Also, I would like to remind all our valuable citizens that our Representative Office is always open for you with the sole purpose of giving the best possible service.

The Representative Office is serving our citizens in a country in which we try and develop the existing strong, and historical ties. In addition to furthering the relationship between the two countries, we offer consular services to our citizens living abroad and also, provide information in regard to our country. With this sense of responsibility, me and my colleagues are maintaining its duties studiously to develop the relations further with FCO and the Parliament.

We are proud of the individual successes of the Turkish Cypriots who are living here as doctors, artists, accountants, businessman and businesswoman, politicians and so much more since the 1950s.

We are well aware of importance of strengthening the solidarity within the esteemed Turkish Cypriot citizens in order to transform individual success to communal success. Accordingly, we give great importance to activities held by Turkish Cypriot NGO’s and Turkish Schools based here in the UK.

For this purpose, with the contribution of our valuable citizens living in the UK, the Representative Office is planning to organize various economic, cultural and artistic events which will make our country more visible and strengthen interaction and dialogue within the Turkish Cypriot community.

I extend my best wishes and regards to you all.
